Ghost's SKELETÁ
Ghost, led by Tobias Forge, have been a rock phenomenon for years. Their 2025 album SKELETÁ brought them to a new level of acclaim, introducing fans to a new dynamic vocalist, Papa V Perpetua. The album found success, debuting at the top of the Billboard 200 last spring, the first rock album to do so since 2020. The album features several notable tracks, including "Cenotaph", which is memorable for its crunchy gallop and Perpetua's joyfully reflective and tributary tenor. The song's music video, released in December, hits different now, considering Ghost's most recent cliffhanger Chapter suggests that their former frontman may have taken a permanent vacation from the Clergy. Another track, "Peacefield", proposes that the "dawn of prosperity" has arrived, loaded with melodic metal guitarmonizing and gleefully over-the-top vocal layers. The song has been well-received by fans, with many putting their faith in Ghost's "Peacefield". The album also features "Umbra", which stars the nameless ghoul hammering the holy hell out of the cowbell, and "De Profundis Borealis", which begins with a super chill classical piano motif but propels itself with an on-the-beat, pulse-quickening slam. The top track, according to fans, is "Lachryma", which has come through as the choicest cut off SKELETÁ. The song expertly weaves Eighties-era metal riffage with Ghost's signature ghoulish popcraft, making it one of their best tracks, across the board, and damn-near perfect.
