Tobias Forge Stalking Case
A woman in her 40s has been charged with harassment for allegedly stalking Ghost frontman Tobias Forge. According to Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, the stalking case has become an active investigation by police. Details surrounding the case suggest that the woman regularly sent the rock star a series of long texts, physical letters, and a package containing a cell phone all between July and October last year. She also attempted to contact Forge through a number of payment requests. Investigators assert that Forge "experiences the perpetrator's contact attempts and actions as offensive, intrusive and invasive." Forge shared lengthy messages praising him through normal text messaging and WhatsApp with law enforcement. After he blocked her number, she switched to the physical letters sent as registered mail. The previously mentioned phone seemed to be the last straw, causing Forge to bring the device straight to police after he felt it looked suspicious. He reportedly told police that he "didn't want to keep [the phone] in my home so I put it on the balcony before I handed it in to the police." "I feel quite reserved around people trying to contact me, but over the years I've had about a dozen stalkers. However, no one has done anything as invasive and downright threatening as sending a mobile phone. It wouldn't have been so good if I lived at a secret address, for example. With that phone, I reached my limit. " "I've had devoted pursuers before, most of them are pretty harmless, but there's something about this that's odd." Though Forge claims he doesn't remember ever meeting the woman in question before, police report that the woman's recollection of events is drastically different. According to the woman, she met Forge 16 years ago and had been messaging each other daily through various messaging apps. She also said she and Forge have been engaged since September last year, though she declined to show proof of those communications when asked to do so by police. Not wanting to "make her life worse," Forge is apparently not seeking monetary compensation as a result of the charges. He just wants "her to leave me alone and not hurt anyone else." The case is ongoing, and the woman is also charged with unlawful stalking, sexual assault, and multiple counts of assault against two other individuals.
