Linton Rubino
Albin Linton Rubino
“Lake / River / Water #2-#3 (Water element Ghoul)”
Bassist during the Infestissumam era and start of Meliora; son of keyboardist Mauro Rubino. Linton Rubino was Ghost's bassist from 2011 until he was fired by Tobias Forge in 2015, a year before his father Mauro Rubino was part of the band's mass exodus. His case is unique because he was the only former Ghoul of that generation who was dismissed before the great 2016 replacement and who did not take part in the lawsuit. In several interviews, Linton described his departure from Ghost as one of the hardest periods of his life. 'I needed six months of therapy because I felt like I was nobody,' he publicly stated. The loss of the Ghouls' anonymity —combined with the loss of work— left him with no visible musical identity. After his departure, Linton formed the synth-pop band Priest alongside his father Mauro. Although he was not involved in the 2017 lawsuit, he was emotionally involved because a family member (his father) and a close friend (Simon Söderberg) were among the plaintiffs. In 2018 he publicly criticized the album Prequelle, saying he was 'ashamed to have been part of that' and calling the music 'a joke'.
