Impera
Released in March 2022, Impera is Ghost's fifth studio album and their most ambitious to that point. Produced by Klas Åhlund —who returned after Meliora— with co-production by Vargas & Lagola on select tracks, the album explores the fall of great empires throughout history as a metaphor for human power cycles. Impera debuted at #1 in Sweden, Norway and Finland and included the anthem "Hunter's Moon" from the Halloween Kills soundtrack. By then, the viral phenomenon of "Mary on a Cross" on TikTok —driven by Netflix's Wednesday series— had multiplied Ghost's audience exponentially, making the Impera tour the biggest in their history.
