Chris Catalyst
“Aether / Quintessence #2 (Ether/Quintessence element Ghoul)”
First guitarist of the new post-lawsuit era; revealed the entire Imperatour lineup by posting an unmasked group photo in 2022. Chris Catalyst is an English guitarist born and raised in Yorkshire, known before Ghost primarily for his long career with The Sisters of Mercy (2005–2019), an iconic gothic rock band, and for being the founder of Eureka Machines. Catalyst joined Ghost in 2017 as part of the new lineup built by Tobias Forge after firing the entire original formation. He was the rhythm guitarist —and occasionally lead— during the Prequelle and Impera cycles, including the 2019 support tour for Metallica and the long Imperatour 2022–2023. He became an iconic character of the Prequelle/Impera era thanks to his live energy and charismatic interaction with the other Ghouls. In May 2022, after the last European show of the Imperatour, he posted a group unmasked photo of the entire Ghost team along with the support acts on Twitter, accidentally —or perhaps intentionally— revealing the identity of all the Imperatour Ghouls. He participated in the first part of the Skeletour 2025 (European leg). His participation in the second North American part is uncertain.
