Mauro Alan Rubino
“Aero / Air #1 (Air/Wind element Ghoul)”
Keyboardist of the classic era; responsible for the atmospheric layer and iconic solos such as the one in 'Mummy Dust'. Mauro Alan Rubino was Ghost's keyboardist from 2011 to 2016, joining just before the recording of Infestissumam. His contribution was fundamental in defining the atmospheric and dramatic sound of the band during its most commercially successful period. He is especially recognized for the keyboard solo in 'Mummy Dust' (Meliora), which became an iconic moment in live shows and evolved musically throughout the tour, with each live version being slightly different. He uploaded videos from his first visits to the United States with Ghost at Maryland Deathfest in 2011, revealing historical details about the band. Rubino is the father of Linton Rubino, who was also Ghost's bassist between 2011 and 2015. Both played together in the synth-pop band Priest following their respective departures from Ghost. In 2017, Rubino was one of four former Ghouls who sued Tobias Forge claiming their proportional share of the touring and album revenues. The lawsuit was dismissed in 2018 and the plaintiffs were ordered to pay Forge's legal costs, approximately $145,000.
