Ghoul's Era I

The only Ghoul from the classic era with songwriting credits on studio albums, under the alias 'Indio Marcato'. Martin Persner was Ghost's rhythm guitarist from its beginnings in 2010 until July 2016, being the only member of the classic era with songwriting credits on studio albums, under the pseudonym 'Indio Marcato'. He was the main writer of 'Year Zero' (Infestissumam) and collaborated on 'Zenith' and other Meliora tracks. Persner also co-founded Magna Carta Cartel alongside Tobias Forge and Simon Söderberg before Ghost existed, an alternative/experimental band from Linköping. The band was inactive while its members were in Ghost, and Persner reactivated it in 2017 after his departure. In March 2017, Persner was the first Ghost member to publicly identify himself, releasing a video in which he stated: 'My name is Martin and I have been part of Ghost for seven years. Some of you know me as Omega, or Quintessence, or a Nameless Ghoul.' He did not reveal his reasons for leaving at that time, though he later said that 'something horrible' led him to leave the band, without giving details. Notably, Persner was not part of the 2017 lawsuit against Forge, unlike four of his former bandmates.
